Canadian Racing Pigeon Union Inc.
Awards
The Canadian Racing Pigeon Union
presents awards in five categories.
- Annual National Loft and Bird Awards which are
based on club level competition. These are divided
into categories to reflect the size of competition.
- The Provincial Award is presented to the high
point bird in each province for both old and young
birds. The competition for this award is based on
club results
- The Award of Excellence is available for both
old and young birds. Combine results may be used for
points towards this award. Points required are based
on the number of lofts the birds are competing
against.
- The Certificate of Merit is based on two or more
years of performance of an individual bird. Points
can be accumulated over the pigeon's race career.
Pigeons earning a Certificate of Merit can truly be
called Canadian Champions.
- New for 2007 is the Universal Performance Rating
Award or UPR Award, for both old and young birds in
various distance categories. Both individual bird
and loft awards will be awarded to those birds and
lofts that qualify.
